Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities

The Fuji Keizai Group aims to co-create a sustainable, emotionally-rich society by working to resolve many different social issues through its research business and corporate activities.
Another mission is to contribute to economic growth and market expansion by providing quality survey information based on our specialist knowledge and meticulous field research while faithfully observing rules and keeping order as a corporate member of society.

Environmental preservation, resource saving and energy saving

As a responsible corporate member of society, we constantly make efforts in our workplaces aimed at preserving the environment with the goal of living in harmony with the local community and natural environment and protecting the irreplaceable global environment. At the same time, we are fully aware that we receive many different benefits from the Earth, including the resources required for our business activities, and that it is our responsibility to work to preserve the global environment to leave it in a better state, while observing all environmental protection-related laws and striving to make efficient use of resources and energy, contribute to decarbonization of society, and reduce waste, with the aim of creating a more sustainable society that allows economic growth and environmental preservation to coexist.

The Fuji Keizai Group carries out ongoing social activities to make contributions in diverse areas, such as culture, art, healthcare, social welfare, education, and disaster relief, to contribute widely to creation of a more developed, healthier society, in cooperation with the local community. At the same time, we proactively make everyday efforts, such as donating books, providing used postal stamps, and using environmentally-friendly materials in business cards.

3.Human resources

Providing jobs

Since first opening for business, the Fuji Keizai Group has worked hard to protect jobs. The Japanese economy has experienced many recessions, such as the two oil shocks, the transition to floating exchange rates, the burst of the economic bubble, and the post-Lehman-shock global economic crisis. As these events unfolded, we continued to protect our employees’ jobs without cutting a single one. We believe that protecting jobs is a corporate social responsibility. We will also place greater emphasis on employing people with disabilities in the future.

Workplace environment improvements

To create a better working environment, the Fuji Keizai Group is promoting various employee work styles, such as introducing hourly paid leave and expanding staggered work hours, and stimulating internal communication through support for club activities. We are also actively working to support balancing childcare and nursing care responsibilities, such as providing paid childcare leave and a paid nursing care leave system that allows employees to accumulate paid leave and use it for nursing care. Respect for human rights is a universal standard of behavior. The Fuji Keizai Group acts with respect for basic human rights and does not discriminate in any way. We comply with labor laws and do not tolerate child labor or forced labor. We support international efforts to eliminate and abolish these practices and strive to achieve them.

Human resource development

We focus on talent and career development support for employees by expanding educational programs, such as on-the-job training for newcomers, class-based training, more practical skill training, and personal development support.

Employee health

We respect each and every employee and position health promotion, which allows employees to work energetically and with sound mind and body, as a “management issue.” We encourage each employee to “selfdiscipline their health management” and work to “create a vibrant workplace.“The Fuji Keizai Group is committed to promoting the health of its employees, including regular health checkups, comprehensive medical checkups, and the promotion of appropriate work hour management. Risk management

We carry out initiatives to protect employees and ensure business continuity with the goal of fulfilling our social responsibilities, for example by developing business continuity plans and a disaster management system for disasters such as earthquakes, fires, heavy rains and strong winds, and infectious diseases. In addition, we also work to reinforce our information security, for example through responses to cyberattacks.
